No European Championships for Pius Schwizer
Swiss show jumping rider Pius Schwizer will not compete at the FEI European Championships in August. Only in July, he lost five of his best horses in one day and therefore also his prospects for the EC. He was also qualified with Giovanni van het Scheefskasteel but decided that it is too early for the nine year old horse to compete in a Championship. On his website he stated:

European Championships come too early for Giovanni
(2.8.2015) After the CSIO Hickstead Pius Schwizer has decided not to consider a participation with Giovanni van het Scheefkasteel at the European Championships in Aachen: „Even though the stallion went very well today in the Grand Prix – this was the most difficult course he has ever jumped so far –, the EC just come too early for the nine year old horse. Giovanni is an exceptional top crack, and I don’t want to overstrain him.“ The reason for Pius Schwizer being in this uncomfortable situation of competing with his young horses at the highest level, grounds on the unexpected loss of the top horses from Quinoa Stables. With them he enjoyed lots of success in a short time. Now it is all about staying calm and building up well the future prospects.
