Canada as a loser in sponsorship dilemma

Since April we now that there will be no Nations Cup in Spruce Meadows. It was the first time for more than 35 years.
Just like s´Hertogenbosch and Geneva, Spruce Meadows will not give up Rolex as a sponsor. But the World Cup and the Nations Cup series is sponsored by Longines, therefore the three venues lose the respective competitions.

The Canadian Association sent a „rookie“ team to the Nations Cup in Mexico, expecting to grab their Barcelona slot at Spruce Meadows. Without that option Canada now has no more chance to qualify for the final in Barcelona, because in contrast to Europe there are only three Nations Cup qualifications in North America.
