The stage is set for the next round of the 2015 Longines Global Champions Tour in Cannes, which will see many of the world’s most talented show jumpers bring a host of the most successful and well known horses in the sport to this classic leg of the championship series.
For the first of the French Grand Prix this 2015 season, Edwina Tops-Alexander brings the talented and quick Lintea Tequila to the stunning Riviera show ground, and their strong partnership will certainly put them in the spot-light as the competition battle hots up.
The combinations will compete in the 75x55m sand arena and the courses for all the 5* competitions during the weekend will be designed by Uliano Vezzabi who will be setting his characteristically challenging and technical tests for the world’s best horses and riders.
Scott Brash will ride two of his mares, Hello Annie and Hello M’Lady and will undoubtably be looking to reclaim the Longines Global Champions Tour rankings top spot. Current leader Luciana Diniz will be bringing Grand Prix winning Winningmood, along with Lennox – a clear sign of her intentions to hold onto the lead with this high calibre partnership – and Sweden’s Rolf-Göran Bengtsson will team up once again with his 16 year old stallion, Casall Ask as part of his campaign to take the championship crown after coming so close in previous seasons.
The always expressive Quickly de Kreisker will be in attendance with Morocco’s Abdelkebir Ouaddar, and looking to gain more points in the championship. Britain’s Ben Maher will ride Cella, another potential challenger for the top Grand Prix podium spots. One to watch will be Marta Ortega Perez as she tests her partnership with the recently acquired Zigali P S, formally ridden by Eric Lamaze. With other challengers such as Oh d’Eole, AD Rahmannshof’s Bogeno, Status, Nice Stephanie, Taloubet Z and Cornet’s Cristallo all in attendance, and top international riders from Egypt, Czech Republic, El Salvador and throughout the world, it’s set to be a hot battle for the crown of Cannes.
