The famous Silvio I passed away. The Oldenburg breeding stallion died on 18 March 2015 at age 28 in France at Haras Des Princes.
Silvio I was known as a versatile breeding stallion who produced succesfull dressage horses as well as show jumpers. Anyhow he was mostly used for show jumpers. The offspring of Sandro x Gelbkatze was born in 1987 at Paul Schockemöhle’s stud in Germany. During his Stallion Performance Test before the approval in Oldenburg he scored 121.50 points and finished seventh out of 70 stallions.
One of Silvio’s most famous offsprings is Shutterfly with whom Germany’s Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum became European Champion, third in the World Equestrian Games and won countless international Grand Prix like the one in Aachen. Sternentänzer is one of the most reknown offsprings of Silvio in Dressage.
Silvio I produced a total of 26 approved stallions and 62 state premium mares during his breeding career.
