Press release | Showjumping – This time, the St Tropez Pirates conserve -not that easily- the advantage they got since yesterday after the first round of the Global Champions League, new class of the Longines Global Champions Tour circuit. But how hard it was for the Pirates…
Belgium Jérôme Guery, second rider of the team, had the confortable advantage of two faults to make after the clear round of his teammate Simon Delestre. The French rode for the occasion his faboulous Hermès Ryan. The little chestnut had simply been amazing, offering at the same time an individual third place to his rider. Thanks to this round, Jérôme Guéry had 9 points ahead on the Hamburg Diamonds, finally his team won by only a very small lead of 1 point, after Grand Cru van de Rozenberg faulted twice. A score that also deprives the Belgium rider of the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Paris ! As a consolation for Guéry, the St Tropez Pirates took the leadership after eight steps out of fifteen.
Other highlight of the day, the fantastic « remontada » of the Chantilly Pegasus, 11th yesterday, they took the third place with the almost two clear rounds of Spain Sergio Alavarez Moya (0 with G&C Arrayan) and USA Lauren Hough (1 point with Waterford).
Competing also in individual, Kevin Staut won with Ayade de Septon*HDC. A beautiful victory for the Parisian public who had already fill the tribunes in the afternoon. Second round which was also support of qualification for the LGCT Grand Prix of Paris, where we could find 6 of our French riders : Philippe Rozier, Julien Epaillard, Patrice Delaveau and Kevin Staut.
