And one man managed to do this to perfection. Spanish rider Ismael Garcia Roque led his KWPN mare Durania K safely and incredibly fast through the test, achieving the best time at 64.25 seconds. “I didn’t think I would be able to win – certainly not with such a margin”, he said in the winner’s interview.

Not even the “young and wild” winner of the CSI2* Opening Jumping competition on Thursday, Lucas Porter (USA), came near this. With twelve-year-old Diamonte Darco he came second, also penalty-free and in 69.07 seconds. Shortly behind him was Denis Nielsen (GER) and DSP Cashmoaker with a time of 69.68 seconds, coming third. Best Austrian rider once again was Theresa Pachler (NÖ), gaining fifth place in the saddle of Acorada 11 (0/71.80).
