Press release – Same El Dahan from Egypt and Dorin Kuypers secured themselves the opening victories of the second CSI3* week at the Winter Cup of the Costa del Sol Tour in Mijas, Spain. This week’s challenges for the more experienced among the show-jumping horses began with the Masters tests. The young horses are taking a break until this coming Tuesday.
Same El Dahan is 32 years old, is known as Sam and lives in Ballyclare in Northern Ireland. Since the age of five the Egyptian has been under the spell of equestrian sport, and it was because of the sport that he moved to Northern Ireland in 2011. But not before completing a degree. El Dahan studied medicine in Cairo before dedicating himself to show jumping. He represented his homeland at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in France. Last weekend El Dahan won another Masters test in Mijas, with mare Limelight de Breve, so this is number two.
The second Masters test of the day went to the Netherlands, to 25-year-old Doron Kuipers from Rotterdam, who runs his own sports stables in Mijnsheerenland. Since 1998 sport horses have been trained there by the family, and Doron Kuipers has been head of the stables since 2010. In Mijas he was riding Diablo.
